FAQs: Promotions

Question: Why is my promotion not displayed in the Promotions by Tags report?
Answer: If your promotion has reimbursement which is equal to the discount price, such promotion will not be displayed in the Promotions by Tag report. You may find such promotion in the BuyDowns report or Item Sales by Tags report.
For more information on how the reimbursement is configured for the promotion, see Promotion Setup Form > How much? subsection.

Problem: The promotion was set up properly in CStoreOffice®, but it is not applied to items on the cash register.
Troubleshooting: Make sure the Current Retail value is set up for all items participating in the promotion. If the Current Retail value is missing for the item, the promotion with such item does not work on the cash register.
For more information, see Setting Up Station Item Attributes and Promotion Setup Form.

Check if all items participated in the promotion are active. In case you had inactive items in the promotion and activated them after the promotion updates were sent, you will need to resend these updates again.
For more information on how to check if the item is active or not, see Viewing Inactive Items.
For more information on accepting changes sent to the cash register, see Reviewing and Accepting Changes.

The Departments Included option is currently not supported by cash registers. You can use the Items Included or Promo Groups Included options instead.

Unknown promotions can be displayed in the shift report in the following cases:
- Case 1: "Unknown Promotion" in several promotions for one item.
In case you run the shift report and see "Unknown Promotion" instead of promotion name in two or more promotions for one item, you might have sold this item in two different promotions at the same time. - Case 2: "Unknown Promotion" in one promotion for several same items.
Make sure the items have unique PLUs. If not, update PLU for each item with duplicate PLUs and then reprocess the shift. - Case 3: A promotion is deleted from CStoreOffice®, but still exists at the cash register.
It means that CStoreOffice® does not recognize the promotion coming from the register since that promotion does not currently exist in CStoreOffice®. - Case 4: A promotion is configured only at the cash register, but not in CStoreOffice®.
It means that CStoreOffice® does not recognize the promotion coming from the register since that promotion does not currently exist in CStoreOffice®. - Case 5: Manual discount is applied to the item at the cash register.
