The Cycle Counts menu allows you to conduct regular manual inventory of your stock. Based on your requirements and policies, you can either perform a full physical inventory or cycle counting:
- A full physical inventory is a "wall-to-wall" count where every single item in the store is counted in one massive event. This typically happens once or twice a year, often timed with the end of a fiscal year. It provides a complete snapshot of the company’s total assets, which is usually a requirement for tax filings, bank loans, and external audits.
- Cycle counting is an "always-on" approach to auditing. Instead of counting everything at once, staff count a small, predetermined subset of inventory every day or week. By the end of a set period (the cycle), every item in the warehouse has been accounted for at least once.
