Viewing Report

COGS by Category report provides information on the store's cost of goods sold.

The report contains the following information:

  • Beginning Inventory: Retail price, percentage of the GPM and item cost for the specific category for the beginning inventory.
  • Ending Inventory: Retail price, percentage of the GPM and item cost for the specific category for the ending inventory.
  • Store Purchases (Store Purchases= Purchases - Buy Downs): Buydowns, purchases, store purchases.
  • COGS: Cost of goods sold within the category.

The report provides the following calculation options:

  • Store GPM: Select this option to have the GPM match the Profit and Loss report. If the report is generated with this option selected, the cost of goods is calculated based on the retail and GPM values (not in purchases data).
  • Category GPM: If the report is generated with this option selected, the cost of goods is calculated based on the retail and GPM for category values. The GPM for category values, in turn, are taken from the Category Inventory Levels report.

Filtering Report Data

To get the exact information you need, you can apply filters to the report. To set up a filter, select one or more filtering options. Once the filter is set up, at the bottom of the filter section, click the Refresh button to display the report data by the filter criteria.

The report provides the following filtering options:

  • Subtotal By: Select this filtering option and specify the station or category you are interested in.
  • Station Included: Select this filtering option and specify the station you are interested in.
  • Filter by Station Tags: Use this option to filter the report data by tags assigned to stations. The generated report will contain data only for those stations to which the selected tags are assigned.
To select tags by which the report data must be filtered, expand the tags tree and select the check boxes next to the necessary tags. You can filter the report data by root tags and tags of the lower level in the tags hierarchy. You can also create a combined filter by selecting different root and child tags.
