Price book change log
To review the detailed log of price book changes or search the price book updates made several days ago:
- Click the history icon in the toolbar of the Price Book pages.
- Click the View full report button at the bottom of the Recent Price Book Changes sidebar.
- The Price Book Changes History report opens. For performance reasons, the report initially displays no data. To view the price book change log, apply the necessary filters and click the Load button in the top-right corner.
Alternatively, you can access the Price Book Changes History report by clicking Reports > Price Book in the main menu and selecting the Price Book Changes report which is available on the account, company, division and station levels.
The report data is organized into the following sections:
The data in the Price Book Changes History report is displayed with a 5-minute delay.
- Versions: This section includes the list of price book updates that match the selected filters.
- Date: Date and time the changes were made.
- Change By: The full name of the user who made the changes to the price book.
- Process: The operation that caused the price book update.
- Changes Summary: The brief overview of the changes.
- Changes: The total number of affected entities. This information is intended for support purposes.
- Affected Objects: The number of affected price book objects (such as items, vendors, and others). Hover over the value to view detailed information on the types of affected objects.
- Affected Locations: The number of affected locations (stations). Hover over the value to view the full list of locations.
- Versions Changes: Click the row in the Versions section to see this section. It shows the detailed breakdown on all price book changes for the selected time.
- Object: Price book entity for subtotal row or property name when subtotal is expanded.
- Location: Location (station) that was affected by the price book update. If the change affects the entire account, this filed is empty.
- Action: Type of the update - whether the object was added, modified or removed.
- Type: Type of the changed entity.
- Changes: The initial value and the new value in <initial value> → <new value> format.
Rolling back the changes
To roll back the change to the price book, click the Revert link next to the specific update in the Versions list and click the Proceed button.
When the price book restoration is in progress, the history icon in the toolbar changes to the clock icon.
You will be notified once the changes have been successfully rolled back to the selected version.
Filtering report data
The Price Book Changes History report offers powerful filtering and sorting options to help you to drill down into the data and uncover the specific details you need.
- To adjust the report interval, select a predefined period from the dropdown menu or enter a custom date range.
- To narrow down your results, use the Advanced Filters button and choose one or more filtering criteria from the Filter By list:
- Search For: Specify affected items, categories, cash register departments, or price groups.
- Changed By: Select users who made changes.
- Changed Property: select updated properties.
- Process: Select the operation that caused the price book update.
- Affected Locations: Select locations affected by the updates.
- Actions: Select the types of updates - whether the object was added, modified or removed.
To apply selected filters, click the Accept button. The filters you choose are displayed below the filtering settings.
Saving filters
Save your favorite filters to quickly apply them again in the future:
- Specify the filtering criteria.
- Click Save next to the filtering settings.
- Name your saved filters.
To apply a saved filter, select it from Saved Filters dropdown.
