Searching items manually

In the self-checkout mode, customers in your location can search and add an item to the cart manually, if the item will not add to the cart after scanning with the barcode scanner. If the QwickServe unit is integrated with the SmartPOS unit in your location, the customers can add the ordered meals to the cart manually as well.

There are two options for you as a customer to start searching for an item manually:

  1. After entering the self-checkout mode or once the previous customer finishes shopping, tap Manually Search for Item.

  2. If at least one item has been already added to the cart, tap Search for Item.

On the appeared screen, there are the following search options:

Searching alphabetically

On the Alphabet tab, as a customer, you can see items sorted alphabetically by item name. To see item starting with a specific letter, tap the respective letter range. Tap Previous Page and Next Page to switch the pages. Tap the item to add it to the cart. See Managing the cart after adding an item manually to proceed.

Searching by categories

On the Categories tab, as a customer, you can see item categories sorted by category name. To see categories starting with a specific letter, tap the respective letter range. Tap Previous Page and Next Page to switch pages. Tap the category to see the items from this category.

After selecting the category, you can find the item you need. Tap Previous Page and Next Page to switch pages. To return to the category selection, tap Back. See Managing the cart after adding an item manually to proceed.

Enter item name or barcode

As a customer, you can tap the search box in the upper right corner and enter item name or barcode you want to search by. Tap Previous Page and Next Page to switch the pages. Tap the item to add it to the cart. See Managing the cart after adding an item manually to proceed.

Additional actions on the manual search screen

To return to the cart screen, tap Back to Scanning. If you need any assistance, tap Assistance.

Managing cart after adding an item manually

After selecting an item manually, the cart screen with the selected item appears. On the appeared screen, do the following:

  1. Scan items until you scan all the items.

  2. If any item will not add to the cart, add it manually following the instructions on this page or tap Ask for Assistance to ask the location's personnel for assistance.
  3. You can do the following:
  4. To void an item in the cart, tap the red cross icon right to the item name.
  5. To void all items in the cart, tap Delete Cart.
  6. If you need any assistance, tap Ask for Assistance.
  7. If the QwickServe unit integrated with the SmartPOS unit in the current location, you can do the following:
  8. Add ordered meals to the cart.
  9. Order food.
  10. When all the items you want are in the cart, tap Pay Now and follow the instructions on the screen.
