Altria Digital Trade Program

AGDC Digital Trade Program is a strategic initiative by the Altria Group Distribution Company (AGDC) designed to help retailers leverage digital capabilities to drive store traffic, cultivate customer loyalty, and build personalized relationships with adult tobacco consumers (age 21+).

Retailers can participate in one of four tiers. Higher tiers require advanced digital capabilities but offer greater financial incentives.

Tier 1: Data submission

Minimal requirements:

  • Submit transaction-level scan data for all applicable Altria Tobacco Operating Company (ATOC) products.

To comply with Tier 1 requirements, subscribe for the following Petrosoft products:

Incentives:

  • Base payment for submitting accurate weekly scan data.

Tier 2: Loyalty participation

Minimal requirements:

  • Submit transaction-level scan data for all applicable ATOC products.
  • Implement Age Validation Technology at the point of sale to scan government-issued IDs for age verification.
  • Participate in at least one ATOC loyalty fund program.

To comply with Tier 2 requirements, subscribe for the following Petrosoft products:

  • Scan Data: Automatically sends tobacco sales data to Altria.
  • CStoreOffice®/Retail 360 Tobacco Scan Data Supporting Altria report: Sets up the transaction-level scan data export to the AGDC.
  • Scan Data Loyalty: Configures loyalty promotions, sends them to compatible cash registers, and reports customers’ phone numbers to AGDC for reimbursement.

Incentives:

  • Base payment for submitting accurate weekly scan data.
  • Additional payment for maintaining promotions data accuracy.

Tier 3: Digital Engagement

Minimal requirements:

  • Submit transaction-level scan data for all applicable ATOC products.
  • Implement Age Validation Technology at the point of sale to scan government-issued IDs for age verification.
  • Participate in at least one ATOC loyalty fund program.
  • Display ATOC offers in the #1 position by tobacco category within the retailer’s digital platform (mobile app or website) to verified adult tobacco consumers.
  • Send at least 3 digital communications (email, push, or in-app) to verified adult tobacco consumers during each STARS Quarter.
  • Submit information about customer notifications to AGDC.

To comply with Tier 3 requirements, subscribe for the following Petrosoft products:

  • Scan Data: Automatically sends tobacco sales data to Altria.
  • CStoreOffice®/Retail 360Tobacco Scan Data Supporting Altria report: Sets up the transaction-level scan data export to the AGDC.
  • CStoreOffice®/Retail 360 Activity Log Metrics (Altria Tier3) report: Sets up export of Go Loyalty notifications data to the AGDC.
  • Scan Data Loyalty: Configures loyalty promotions, sends them to compatible cash registers, and reports customers’ phone numbers to AGDC for reimbursement.
  • Go Loyalty: Organizes loyalty programs and manages customer notifications.
  • Go Loyalty (iOS) and Go Loyalty Rewards (Android) mobile apps: Altria-certified digital platform that discovers nearby stores with loyalty offers and notifies age and identity verified customers about promotions.

Incentives:

  • Base payment for submitting accurate weekly scan data.
  • Additional payment for maintaining promotions data accuracy.
  • Use retail digital coupons.
  • Receive a flat per-store payment that may be used at the retailer’s discretion.

Tier 4: Personalization

This tier is not currently supported by Petrosoft.
