Price book audit

Regular analysis and improvements to a price book are essential for delivering greater value to customers, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and supporting smooth operations.

CStoreOffice® provides a tool that monitors the current state of your price book and identifies areas for improvement. The aggregated information is displayed in the Price Book Check-Up widget on the CStoreOffice® home page and on the Price Book Manager dashboard.

The Price Book Check-Up is being rolled out gradually, so the widget may not be available in your account right away. We appreciate your patience as we deploy this update across all accounts. Once the feature is activated for you, the widget will appear in your dashboard.
In the meantime, our Price Book Enrichment service will help you improve the price book accuracy, consistency, and usability even if the widget is missing.

To view detailed information on issues and areas for improvement, click the See How to Fix button. This will open the AI-powered Your Price Book Audit Results report, providing aggregated insights on key findings. The following problems are detected and reported:

  • Items cluttering your Price Book
  • The outdated items which are not purchased or sold during a long period of time. By proactively removing unneeded items, you can improve operational efficiency, enhance overall system performance, and significantly reduce the time and costs associated with managing and enriching a large price book.
    It is recommended to find and address outdated items before running the price book enrichment.

  • Items marked as UNKNOWN
  • The number of price book items with missing description, causing it to display as "UNKNOWN ITEM #1234567890". Such items complicate inventory management and increase the risk of errors. Our Price Book Enrichment service helps identify and resolve these items, making your Price Book more manageable and efficient.

  • Items with unclear descriptions
  • The number of price book items with descriptions that are fewer than 6 characters long. Short descriptions can make it difficult to find and manage items. Price Book Enrichment service automatically generates clean, standardized descriptions for all your items.

  • Missing key attributes
  • The approximate number of price book items with an empty Size attribute. Price Book Enrichment can fill in missing attributes and add images to help identify items during deliveries, invoicing, and inventory management.

The statistics include only price book items that were sold within the last 180 days.
