Setting Up a New EDI Parser
- From the CStoreOffice® main page, go to Settings > General > EDI Setup.
- In the EDI Setup form, go to the Document Types section.
- In the Document Types section, select the document type supported by your vendor and then double-click it.
Result: The list of vendors for the selected document type opens. In our example, the Merchandise Bills table opens. - In the Merchandise Bills table, select your vendor and then double-click it.
- Go to the Parsers section and then at the top right of it, click the add new button.
- In the Parser Setup form, go to the Search Parser For Document section and enter the following information to find the most suitable parser:
- File: Upload the test invoice file.
- Document Type: Select the document type from the list.
- Station Number: Enter the store account number of your station (a number or a string).
- Bill Number: Invoice number from the test invoice (a number or a string).
- Bill Date: Select the invoice date from the calendar.
- Item UPC: Select any item from the test invoice and enter its UPC.
- Item VIN: Enter any item VIN from the invoice.
- Item Unit in Case: Enter the UIC for the selected item.
- Item Quantity: Enter the pack quantity for the selected item.
- Item Unit Cost: Enter the unit cost of the selected item.
- Item Cost: Enter the item cost for the selected item.
- At the bottom right of the Search Parser For Document section, click the Process button.
- The search process might take up to 5 minutes. After the parser search is complete, the list of parsers is displayed. The list will contain the parsers already linked to vendors with the parameters matching the ones that you entered.
- Select the most appropriate parser (preferably with fewer parameters), and then click it.
- Go to the Parser Settings section, and then click the Process button.
- After the parser is set up, ask the vendor to send a test invoice.
- Make sure the testing invoice is displayed in the Pending Invoices list for that store. Make sure the invoice's content is correct. For details, see the Pending Invoices Report.
- After checking that the invoice and its data is correct, ask the vendor to start sending invoices. Once you see these invoices processed, notify the customer about it.
- The setup is complete.
