Working with MOPs
A MOP (method of payment) is the way in which the amount of money is paid for goods or services, for example, cash, credit card and so on. In CStoreOffice®, MOPs are used for cash reconciliation in the system.
CStoreOffice® offers two types of MOPs:
- Base MOPs: Base MOPs are system MOPs used by default for cash reconciliation. Store sales and gasoline sales for a day or a shift are reconciled against the base methods of payment. You cannot edit or delete base MOPs.
There are eight base methods of payment in the system:
- Cash: Payments received in cash.
- Food stamps (FS): Payments received as food stamps.
- Credit cards: Payments using credit cards.
- Other cards: Cards, terms or conditions of acceptance of which are significantly different from all other cards. For example, proprietary fleet cards that have to be trucked and reconciled separately.
- House account: Amount on house accounts.
- ATM: Cash disbursements to store ATM machines.
- Coupons: The amount for coupons.
- No POS: Any payment not processed via CStoreOffice®.
- Custom MOPs: Custom MOPs are defined at the location level to align cash register settings to the MOPs in CStoreOffice®. You can create custom MOPs and align them to MOPs received from the cash register.
You can perform the following operations with MOPs in CStoreOffice®:
- Viewing Station MOPs
- Adding Custom MOP
- Editing Custom MOP
- Deleting Custom MOP
- Map MOPs automatically
