  21. Connect SmartPOS to the internet.

SmartPOS Ultra offers Wi-Fi connectivity for more flexible internet setup. If you prefer a wireless connection, skip plugging in the Ethernet cable and set up the Wi-Fi network after powering on your device (see Step 6).
A wired Ethernet connection is recommended for optimal stability if both options are available.

    To use Ethernet connection:

  22. Locate a router or network switch connected to the internet in your location, preferably close to the SmartPOS device.
  23. Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into an available port on the internet router or network switch.
  24. Insert the other end of the Ethernet cable into the network port on the bottom of the SmartPOS device.
  25. Turn SmartPOS on.

  26. Ensure SmartPOS is plugged into the surge protector (see Step 1) and has an internet connection (see Step 5).
  27. Press the power button on the SmartPOS device.
  28. SmartPOS may automatically download and install updates when you start it up. This process typically takes a few minutes, but the exact time will depend on your internet speed.
After successfully installing the updates, your SmartPOS will automatically restart. This is normal behavior and ensures the update takes effect.

To complete the setup process, follow these steps after the initial SmartPOS screen appears:

  29. Set up the network connection.
This option is available for Wi-Fi connections or if you are having trouble connecting SmartPOS to the internet.
  30. Activate your SmartPOS.
  31. See Navigating SmartPOS to learn the navigation essentials and routine operations.
