Getting Started with Direct Connect
The DC Box, or Direct Connect, is an integration network terminal by Petrosoft. It acts as a mini-server that enables bi-directional data transfer between the cash register and back-office system. With the DC Box, retailers can back up and transport real-time data in a secure and reliable way.
With the DC Box in place, you do not need a back-office computer to communicate with the cash register. Only a stable Internet connection is required. The DC Box creates a direct VPN connection to the cash register, either PPTP or OpenVPN, and allows Petrosoft servers to communicate directly with the cash register.
DC-101, DC-301 and DC-501 models have reached the end of life and are no longer supported. You can purchase newer DC Box versions in the Petrosoft marketplace.
Use of the DC Box lets you keep pricing, inventory, and loss prevention analytics information up to date. Any approved updates from the back-office system can also be sent automatically to an individual cash register or company-wide POS systems.
