What's New in DC Box: Release 2.3

Third-Party Modules

New! DC Box now supports automatic deployment of third-party Petrosoft applications on the DC Box platform.

Where: DC Box API.

UI Changes: The DC BOX Modules step has been added to the DC Box Activation wizard. The step displays a list of available external modules and allows monitoring the modules statuses.


New! DC Box automatically discovers third-party modules available in the work environment during the activation process.

Where: DC Box API.

UI Changes: None.

New! DC Box now supports Underground Storage Tank Monitor (Veeder Root TLS-350).

Where: DC Box Activation wizard.

UI Changes: The ATG Connection Settings step has been added to the DC Box Activation wizard. The step displays the ATG device configuration settings and allows customizing these settings if necessary.

Activation Wizard

Improved! New and improved user-friendly design for the DC Box Activation wizard has been introduced.

Where: DC Box Activation wizard.

UI Changes: The DC Box Activation wizard has been redesigned to improve user experience and efficiency.

Cross-Browser Support

Improved! Different browsers are now supported for DC Box activation.

The following enhancements have been introduced:

  • DC Box can be activated using different browsers: Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and Firefox.
  • If the activation process was interrupted, you can open a different browser and continue the activation process from the step you last worked at.
  • Mobile browsers can be used for DC Box activation.

IoT Azure

New! DC-Box IoT Central has been introduced, allowing to collect full DC Box health data.

After automatic update, registered DC Box devices are automatically connected to DC-Box IoT Central. The DC-Box IoT Central displays the devices statuses and allows collecting full DC Box health data.

UI Changes: The DC-Box IoT Central portal has been implemented.


Other Improvements

Improved! The NCR POS interface has been redesigned for faster data transfer.

Where: DC Box API.

UI Changes: None.

Improved! A menu with configuration options has been added to the DC informational screen.

The menu on the DC informational screen allows the user to perform the following activities:

  • Activate the DC Box through the command line
  • Change IP addresses on the LAN and SIP interfaces
  • Reset the SIN interface

Where: DC Box main screen.

UI Changes: The menu can be opened by pressing CTRL + X on the keyboard. For navigation through the menu options, the ENTER key can be used.


Improved! The network setup process has been improved, which helps streamline the activation process and minimize the number of support calls.

Where: DC Box Activation wizard.

UI Changes: The DC Box Activation wizard now displays warnings next to incorrectly entered network settings and allows testing configured network connections.
