SmartPOS Back Office

A new staging level - LTS Production - has been added at Licenses List > General Settings.

Improvements to POS Settings

• The 'LAN Settings' option has been added at Settings > POS Settings for configuring the settings of local area network.

  

• The 'Parent-Child Items Display' option has been added at Settings > POS Settings > Cash Settings that allows a cashier to add the linked (child) items to the transaction when the primary (parent) item is purchased. This option turns on and off the parent-child items feature.

  

Joystick added to screens

Joystick has been added to the right of the POS screens to move them up and down more conveniently.

Improvements to User Settings

The following 3 new user permissions have been added:

• The ‘Void QS Order’ permission that allows a cashier to cancel the orders coming from QwickServe embedded.

• The ‘Error Correction’ permission that allows a cashier to remove the last item from the order.

• The ‘Manual Refund’ permission that allows a cashier to refund any items manually without selecting the corresponding transaction in the History tab.

  

New scanner model

A new scanner model has been added at Settings > System Settings. It is now possible to connect SmartPOS to the Advantex Wireless 2400 scanner.

SmartPOS BACK OFFICE

• A new switcher has been added to the top-right corner of the CStoreOffice® main page for accessing Petrosoft products. To access the SmartPOS module, click Switcher > SmartPOS.

  

• The Login and Password fields have been removed from the Soft Key module at the CStoreOffice® side.

  

• It is now possible to turn on and off the Inventory module at the CStoreOffice® side.

  

IMPROVEMENT TO HELP AND SUPPORT SETTINGS

The Help button has been added to the Update screen.

REDESIGN OF PRICE BOOK AND SETTINGS SCREENS

• The 'Games' tab has been moved from the Price Book screen to the Lottery Inventory screen.

  

• User’s settings are now grouped into two menus: 'User info' and 'Role and Permissions' at the Settings > Users > create/edit user.

  

• The 'Receipt Settings' tab has been moved to the POS Settings tab at POS Settings > Receipt Settings.

• The 'Print transaction void' option for printing void receipts has been added at POS Settings > Receipt Settings.

  

IMPROVEMENTS TO SYSTEM SETTINGS

• The 'Never' value has been added to the Login timeout list. When 'Never' is selected, the user stays logged in all the time on condition there are no activity on the device.
• The 'Devices' button has been added for redefining all the plugged devices.
• The 'Sound Volume' option has been hidden until the sound is implemented on SmartPOS.

• The 'VFD' value has been added to the Customer Display list for connecting SmartPOS to the VFD customer display that shows the last item added to the transaction, the last item price and the total amount of transactions.

  

• It is now possible to use the ads images of different sizes depending on the SmartPOS display resolution. The ads images are uploaded at the CStoreOffice® side.

  

IMPROVEMENT TO LOTTERY GAMES SELLING PROCESS

The 'Status' field at Games > edit game displays the number of remaining lottery tickets. When all the lottery tickets are sold out, the Status field displays the number of sold out tickets.

MINOR USABILITY IMPROVEMENTS TO DEPARTMENTS TAB

A new UI component for selecting Taxes and Fees has been implemented.

IMPROVEMENTS TO MOP TAB

• The screens for creating and editing MOPs have been redesigned for usability purposes.

• The 'Run as Credit Only' option has been added to the Credit MOP for configuring SmartPOS to process non-cash payments as the credit transactions only.

  

• The 'Enable Secondary' PIN Pad option has been renamed to Enable External EBT.

  

NEW POSTPONED TRANSACTIONS REPORT

The 'Postponed Transactions' report has been added to Reports to work with the postponed void transactions for Non Cash MOPs or other transactions postponed due to the PIN pad errors.

QS EMBEDDED SUPPORTS NETWORK PRINTERS

QwickServe Embedded supports now the network printers at Settings > Devices. The StarMicro SmartPOS model of the network printer can be configured to print the kitchen tickets only.

Improvement TO HELP AND SUPPORT SETTINGS

Help button has been added to the screen for user access confirmation.

CASH BACK LIMIT AMOUNT BOX ADDED TO SETTINGS

Cash Back Limit Amount setting have been added at Settings > POS Settings > Cash Settings.

SmartPOS INTERFACE WAS LOCALIZED INTO SPANISH AND PORTUGUESE LANGUAGES

Spanish and Portuguese languages have been added to Settings > System Settings > Locale.

For Spanish interface, Spanish virtual keyboard has been implemented.

IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SYSTEM SETTINGS

It is now possible to manage the following hardware settings from SmartPOS: System Unit, Printer, Cash Drawer, Customer Display, Scanner, Credit Card Processor, Forecourt Controller.

Forecourt Controller appears when the Fuel module is turned on.

Two check boxes have been added to collect POS performance data and to back up POS data daily. All gathered data is sent to CStoreOffice®.

SALE WAS RENAMED TO TRANSACTION IN THE HISTORY TAB

The Sale # column has been renamed to the Transaction # column at the History tab.

IMPROVEMENT TO THE LOTTERY DEPARTMENTS

The "Allow negative transactions" option is now selected automatically and then becomes unavailable, with Instant payout selected at Price Book > Departments > Lottery Type.

IMPROVEMENTS TO THE RESTAURANT/BAR MODULE

New buttons have been added at the Cashier’s screen > Tabs that allows cashier to do the following:

• Assign seat, selecting it from the created seats at Price Book > Seats.

  

• Assign Waiter to the order.
• Join Tabs in one order.
• Split Tab into several seats/persons. After that, cashier can do the following:

• To split the order amount between the seats/persons equally, by pressing Split Basket.

  

• To split the amount of one sale item between the seats/persons equally or to move the sale item from the basket to the specific seat or person, by pressing Move/Split Items.

  

• To add new seat/person or to delete seat, by pressing the Add button or the Delete Seat buttons correspondingly.
• Print Bill.

IMPROVEMENTS TO VIDEO JOURNAL MODULE

New Video Journal permission has been added at Settings > Users that allows using the Video Journal feature.

DC BOX (Direct Connect) has been added as a source of video content from IP cameras at Settings > Video Settings.

Waiter User Role now available

A new user role - Waiter - has been introduced. The role has been customized the following way: waiters don't occupy a cash drawer when clocking in; no sale option is disabled for waiters; cash drawer don't open for waiters.

Settings Screen Redesigned for Usability Purposes

Receipt printing disabled for No Sale Transactions

Select Placeholder item by scanning

Improvement made to the process of working with favorite items feature. Currently it is possible to search for the item you want to add to favorite or place to the top by scanning it.

NEW RESTAURANT/BAR MODULE WAS ADDED

The Restaurant/Bar module can be turned on or turned off in the same way as all other modules at Settings > SmartPOS > License Management.

When the Restaurant/Bar module is turned on, the Seats tab becomes available at Price Book.

Real Time Inventory Feature

With this new feature it is possible to view the on hand quantity of items.

The feature affects the sales screen, when you can see the on hand quantity of the sale items.

And you can also view the on hand quantity of the searched items.

To enable this feature for the device, go to Data Entry > Dashboard > Cash Register > advanced > Use Realtime Inventory.

New Instant Price Book Feature

It is currently possible to create a new Price Book item during the sale process, when cashier scans a new item which is not present in the Price Book.

To add a new item, press Add New > populate the item information > press Save.

To enable the feature for the device, go to Settings > SmartPOS > License Management > find and click the device in the list of devices > click the Software tab > select the Instant Pricebook option.

Improvement to POS History Tab

The History tab now also includes outdoor fuel sales data.

Improvement to user Permissions

A new user permission has been added. With this permission on, it is possible to refund PLU items without scanning the barcode.

Improvement to MOP settings

It is now possible to specify the MOP type - cash or non cash - in the UI at Settings screen > MOPs > create new or edit existing > Type.

Improvement to Age Restriction Feature

It is now possible to limit the age restriction user authentication to the ID scanning only.

When the option is on, it is only possible to prove the users age by scanning the customer's ID.

When the option is off, the manual verification via pressing 30+ is possible.

Improvement to printed reports - Day/Shift and Cashier's

Fuel and car wash sales data is currently displayed in the printed versions of the Day/Shift and Cashier's reports.

IMPROVEMENT TO THE SYSTEM SETTINGS

Login timeout has been added for setting the inactivity time period after which the systems logs the user out automatically.

QwickServe Application available from SmartPOS

It is now possible to access the QwickServe application from SmartPOS and place and order.

To access QwickServe, press the QwickServe button.

And make an order from the simplified QwickServe interface.

New Ability to add tips to the credit card transactions

It is now possible to add tips to transactions paid by credit cards. To do it, press Other > Add Tips > enter the tip amount. This information is available in the printed cashier's, day and shift reports.

New Equipment available - fusion fuel controller

It is now possible to view the Fusion fuel controller in the list of available devices and its status.

Improvement to user settings - new ability to select user role

Improvement has been made to the SmartPOS user settings. It is now possible to select the user's role. The list of available roles is extracted from CStoreOffice® every 15 minutes. To have the list of roles refreshed, on the General Info screen press Update Price Book.

Permission management improvement

Improvement has been made to the process of actions with limited permissions. Currently if user doesn't have the necessary permission, he is provided with the list of the logged in users with the necessary permission. There is no need for the current user to log out. User with this permission enters his PIN and presses the action button.

Improvement at History tab and video journal

Previously the History tab contained only sales information. It is now possible to view the safe drop, no sale and payout events both under the History tab and in the Video Journal transaction logs.

Search functionality redesign

SmartPOS search functionality has been redesigned. Currently it is a single search field that performs the search depending on the selected tab.

New SmartPOS admin Training is now available

A new SmartPOS Admin online training is now available every 1st and 3rd Thursday at 1 PM. Fro more information, see Training Schedule.

Improvement to the Receipt Settings

Minor improvement has been made to the receipt settings. A new 'Print receipt logo' option has been added.

The logo is set up on the back-office side. If the option is on, but there is no logo set up, a default logo will be used by the system,

Improvement to the MOP Settings

MOP settings have been improved with a new ability to turn on the cash back option with the MOP.

Improvement to the procedure of closing days and shifts

Previously user could close a day or shift with no open day or shift reports without any notification, which resulted in empty reports being sent to the back-office. Currently user is prompted when he is trying to close an empty day or shift.

New MOP added

A new predefined MOP - EBT FS (Food Stamp) - is now available at SmartPOS.

It works the following way:

• A FS department is configured on the back-office side.

• When cashier scans the item from such department, it becomes possible to use EBT FS MOP to pay for it.

  The amount paid by EFT is not taxable. If EFT amount is not enough to cover the whole item price, the rest of the amount paid by another MOP is taxable.

Minor usability improvements to reports and lottery inventory

• Users are now notified on the upload status when uploading reports to back-office.
• A new button for uploading to the back-office has been added at Reports screen > Inventory Reports.
• Two new 'Done' and 'Cancel' buttons have been added to the Lottery Inventory screen. Pressing Done send the lottery inventory results to the back-office.

Improvement to MOPs, Fees and Taxes Naming Conventions

It is no longer possible no save the duplicate fee, tax or MOPs names when creating new elements. Iif duplicate fee, tax or MOPs names are brought from the back-office Price Book after the POS update, they are automatically renamed - Name2, Name3 etc.

It is now possible to refund several same items at a time using the @/for button.

To refund several similar items, enter the number of items and press a/for.

It is now possible to limit the refund transactions to a certain period at Settings > POS Settings > Cash Settings > Max Refund Days.

If cashier is trying to refund an overdue transaction, he receives an error message.

It is now possible to edit the Price Book item size on the SmartPOS device at Price Book Settings > Items > Edit Item > Size.

New sales data export options

It is now possible to select between two formats of POS data export - Nielsen and PJR at Settings > POS Settings > Sales Data Export.

It is now possible to view the sales data export history at Settings > POS Settings > Sales Data Export > view history sign.
