How to Apply Scan Data Loyalty Promotion at Verifone Ruby2

For the Verifone Ruby2 cash registers, the phone number that confirms the scan data loyalty promotion may be entered in the following ways:

  • By a customer on the PIN pad
  • By a cashier on the cashier screen

To know how the customer's phone may be entered to confirm the scan data loyalty promotion, learn the cases described below:

Additionally, you can check a balance for the customer's Loyalty ID by printing the check with customer's phone number from the cash register. For details, see How to check a balance for Customer Loyalty ID.

Case 1: PIN Pad is not connected

To enter the customer's phone number when PIN Pad is not connected:

  1. Add items to the shopping cart:
  • Scan each item using a barcode scanner
    or
  • Enter the item's UPC code manually.
  1. To apply a scan data loyalty promotion to the promoted items, press Loyalty Card.


    Result: The Loyalty form opens.

  2. In the Loyalty form:
  3. In the Scan or Enter Loyalty Card field, enter the customer's phone number.
  4. At the bottom left of the form, press OK.

  5. Make sure the scan data loyalty promotion is applied to the items.
  6. Applied scan data loyalty promotion is displayed below each item.

  7. Complete the sale.

Case 2: PIN Pad is connected + Using Total

This case can be applied only if the Auth on Total option is selected in the POS Configuration settings at the Verifone Ruby2 cash register.

To apply the scan data loyalty using the Total on the cashier screen:

  1. Add items to the shopping cart:
  • Scan each item using a barcode scanner
    or
  • Enter the item's UPC code manually.
  1. Ask customer to do the following actions on the PIN pad:
  1. Press Loyalty ID.
  2. Enter the phone number.
  3. At the bottom right of the PIN Pad, press the green button, to confirm the phone number.
    Result: The Waiting for cashier message is displayed on the PIN pad.
  1. In the cashier screen, press Total.
  1. Make sure the scan data loyalty promotion is applied to the items.
  2. Applied scan data loyalty promotion is displayed below each item.

  3. Complete the sale.

Case 3: PIN Pad is connected + Starting from cashier screen

To start launching the scan data loyalty promotion from the cashier screen:

  1. Add items to the shopping cart:
  • Scan each item using a barcode scanner
    or
  • Enter the item's UPC code manually.
  1. In the cashier screen, press Loyalty Card.


    Result:
    - Cashier screen: The Loyalty Card form opens.
    - PIN Pad: The Swipe Card message is displayed.

  2. Ask customer to do the following actions on the PIN pad:
  1. Press Loyalty ID.
  2. Enter the phone number.
  3. At the bottom right of the PIN Pad, press the green button, to confirm the phone number.
    Result: The Waiting for cashier message is displayed on the PIN pad.
  1. In the cashier screen > Loyalty form, press OK.
  2. Do not enter the customer's phone number at this step as it is already entered on the PIN Pad.

  1. Make sure the scan data loyalty promotion is applied to the items.
  2. Applied scan data loyalty promotion is displayed below each item.

  3. Complete the sale.

Case 4: PIN Pad is connected + Starting from PIN Pad

To start launching the scan data loyalty promotion from the PIN Pad:

  1. Add items to the shopping cart:
  • Scan each item using a barcode scanner
    or
  • Enter the item's UPC code manually.
  1. Ask a customer to do the following actions on the PIN pad:
  1. Press Loyalty ID.
  2. Enter the phone number.
  3. At the bottom right of the PIN Pad, press the green button, to confirm the phone number.
    Result: The Waiting for cashier message is displayed on the PIN pad.
  1. In the cashier screen, press Loyalty Card.
    Result: The Loyalty form opens.
  2. In the Loyalty form, press OK.
  3. Do not enter the customer's phone number at this step as it is already entered on the PIN Pad.

  1. Make sure the scan data loyalty promotion is applied to the items.
  2. Applied scan data loyalty promotion is displayed below each item.

  3. Complete the sale.

Case 5: PIN Pad is connected + Enter phone number on PIN Pad at any time

If the scan data loyalty promotion is already applied and you need to add or remove items from the shopping card and then to apply this promotion once again:

  1. Add or remove items from the shopping cart.
  2. Trigger already applied scan data loyalty promotion from the cashier screen:
  3. In the cashier screen, press Loyalty Card.
    Result: The Loyalty form opens.
  4. In the Loyalty form, press OK.
  5. Do not enter the customer's phone number at this step as it was already entered earlier.

  1. Make sure the scan data loyalty promotion is applied to the items.
  2. Applied scan data loyalty promotion is displayed below each item.

  3. Complete the sale.

How to check a balance for Customer Loyalty ID

To check a balance for the customer's Loyalty ID at the Verifone Ruby2 cash register:

  1. Any time before or during the sale operation, press Loyalty Balance.
    Result: The Loyalty form opens.
  2. In the Loyalty form:
  3. In the Scan or Enter Loyalty Card field, enter the customer's phone number.
  4. At the bottom left of the form, press OK.


    Result: Depending on the loyalty program type, a check with the number of loyalty points or the loyalty program name will be printed. The example of the balance check with the loyalty program name is displayed in the image below.
