Assembling Devices and Connecting to the Network

After you have purchased QwickServe devices, you need to assemble them and install at the locations where these devices will be used. This section describes how to assemble and set up the following devices:

This section covers only basic tasks sufficient for devices setup. For more details, see Petrosoft University Portal > Useful Resources > Downloads > Downloads: QwickServe.

Prerequisites

Before assembling QwickServe devices, check the following prerequisites:

  • Make sure that you have:
  • Philips screwdriver
  • Surge protector
  • Active Internet connection
  • Use CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cables for connecting each component to the router or switch.
  • Make sure that the cash register is connected to the same network as other devices and components at the location.

Assembling the QwickServe Order Manager

To assemble QwickServe Order Manager:

  1. Unpack the QwickServe Order Manager device, screw it to its base and then place the QwickServe Order Manager device where it will be used.
  2. Attach the power block to the power connector and plug the cord into the surge protector.
  3. Tilt the monitor of the QwickServe Order Manager device upward and attach the power cord to the power port below the monitor.
  4. Pass the Ethernet cable from the router or switch that you use to connect to the Internet through the back panel of the QwickServe Order Manager device and connect it to the LAN port.
  5. Tuck in any loose wires for a clean appearance.
  6. Press the power button located on the right side of the terminal unit and hold it until you hear that the unit runs.
  7. Once the terminal loads, tap the QwickServe Order Manager application.

Assembling the QwickServe Ordering Terminal

To assemble QwickServe Ordering Terminal:

  1. Unpack the terminal unit, screw it to its base and then place the unit where it will be used.
  2. Tilt the monitor of the terminal upward and attach the power cord to the power port below the monitor.
  3. Attach the power block to the power connector and plug the cord into the surge protector.
  4. Pass the Ethernet cable from the router or switch that you use to connect to the Internet through the back panel of terminal and connect it to the LAN port.
  5. Unpack the SP30s PIN pad and place it next to the terminal unit.
  6. Connect the power connector and the Ethernet cable to the power cable .
  7. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the router or switch that you use to connect to the Internet.
  8. Plug the SP30s PIN pad into the power outlet on the surge protector.
  9. Tuck in any loose wires for a clean appearance.
  10. Press the power button located on the right side of the terminal unit and hold it until you hear that the unit runs.
  11. Once the terminal loads, tap the QwickServe application.

Connecting the Thermal Printer

To connect the printer to the QwickServe Order Manager:

  1. Unpack the printer and place it next to the QwickServe Order Manager unit.
  2. Connect the power connector to the back of the printer.
  3. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the printer and the other end to the router or switch that you use to connect to the Internet.
  4. Plug the printer into the power outlet on the surge protector.
