Postpone Retail
The Import Postpone Data module of the Import Tool allows you to bulk schedule future price changes. It helps you plan promotional campaigns and schedule price adjustments in advance for seasonal demand or anticipated supplier cost increases. Automating price changes minimize the risk of manual entry mistakes, ensuring consistency and control over your pricing strategy.
Preparing a price update schedule
Future price change schedule is provided in form of Microsoft Excel (.XLSX) file containing item prices with specified future start dates. The file must have the following data structure.

Click Download Example in the Import Tool / Quick Operations / Postpone Retail to get the template for the price update schedule file.
You can schedule multiple price adjustments for the same item, each with its own start date.
Bulk-import postponed price updates
To import price update schedule from a file:
- In the CStoreOffice®, go to Price Book > Import Tool.
- In the Quick Operations section, select Postpone Retail.
- Select one or more locations to which the imported price updates should be applied.
- Click Browse and select the price update schedule file.
- Specify whether all SKU codes in a file have a check digit. Leave Autodetect to let the Import Tool automatically detect the check digit.
- Click the Next button to import the file.
Reviewing import results
After the import is complete, a summary of the applied changes will be displayed, allowing you to verify that your scheduled price updates have been successfully processed. The list will contain the following data:
- GTIN: Global Trade Item Number of an item.
- Description: Item name as it appears in the CStoreOffice® Price Book.
- Postpone Retail, $: Scheduled retail price.
- Postpone Start Date: The date in the future on which the price change should take effect.
- Existing Postpone Retail: An indicator whether an item already has a retail price update scheduled.
Click the Report link to navigate to the Postpone Retail Change report, which will be automatically filtered by the selected location and item.
To correct the price before saving the imported schedule to CStoreOffice®, click the corresponding cell and type in a new price.
To correct the date before saving the imported schedule to CStoreOffice®, click the corresponding cell and select a new date.
If the import was successful, the number of items listed in the import summary should match the number of rows in your uploaded file, minus the header. If you see a mismatch, Select the Invalid filter is the right pane to show the rows that contain errors.
Hover the Report link in the Existing Postpone Retail column to see import errors. Click the link to navigate to the Postpone Retail Change report, which will be automatically filtered by the selected location and item.
Saving the schedule to CStoreOffice®
After you have reviewed the imported data, perform the following steps:
- In the Postpone Data to Import list, select check boxes next to items whose data you want to import and in the right pane.
Click Select All in the right pane to select all items; click Select None to clear all selections. - Click the Next button and wait for the process to complete.
- Click Verify Information to navigate to the Postpone Retail Change report filtered by the target stations, or click Close to return to the bulk import interface.
