Adding a New Data Type

Data types are created and assigned automatically to every newly created category in CStoreOffice®.

If the category name is changed, a new corresponding data type is added to the Required Datatypes list. The data type linked to the category with its previous name is not removed from the table.

Please do not delete the Store Sales data type from the Data Type list as this data type is assigned automatically to transactions in the following cases:
- An item from the transaction has no CR department.
- Item's CR department has no matched category.
- Item's category has no corresponding data type.
In these cases, if the Store Sales data type is missing in the Data Type list, transactions are not created after shifts acceptance.

If the Data Type list does not contain the necessary type for transaction assignment, you can add it to the list manually:

  1. Open the Transactions Assignment form. From the CStoreOffice® home page, go to Settings > Company > Transaction Assignment.

  2. At the bottom of the Transactions Assignment form, click Required Datatypes.
  3. In the Data Type form, select the check box next to the data type that you want to add.
  4. At the top of the Data Type form, click the Save button.
